I have a 2001 F350 crew cab. It has four doors. Here’s the things that I have done. I changed the door a jar switches each one when it opens shows on the instrument cluster that it’s open when I shut the door the light goes out all the other lights, the cargo light the lights on top the glove box lights even the dome lights, both sides, work front and back when I’m flipping the switch I put a brand new dome light relay. I still can’t get the dome lights to light up when I open one of the four doors any suggestions?
Thank you for responding it’s a crew cab when I get in the driver seat all four switches and they just flip on and off all like the bulbs up. I cut the switches off and then when I open the door, the light doesn’t come on. I felt like if I left all the lights on while I was in the truck and the doors were closed they would just stay on. Do you have any suggestions now? Tell me about your switch that you installed or what did you do?
Are you rotating the dash illumination wheel all the way in both directions while the door is open? The center switch controls all the light when door is opened. O.K. I just went out to my truck and rotated dash illumination switch. That procewdure does not affect this issue. Perhaps ou have a ground wire issue. I believe the door jamb switches interrupt the ground side of light circuit.
I had a wiring guy with me when we installed my version of upfitter switches

Leave the switches on and close the door. A timer then will cut off the lamps after about 15 seconds. If the lights do not go out they may be bypassing the timer/
Or your timer is bad. But due to the fact you have four switches, I believe some body modified your lamp / light apparatus.
