P0303 and 304. Bought an Innova reader. Misfires. on cylinders 3 and 4. I suspect it's because of the stupid connectors not engaging and "clicking' as they're supposed to. I also learned that that can cause a could to be blown to the tune of about $70 bucks. Yes, I replaced all the boots, and springs when I did the plugs. I already replaced the coil on number 3 and expected to be good to go after clearing the code. Not happy with this thing right now.
you can edit your own post. pull the plugs on 3 and 4 and take a hard look at them, could have cracked porcelain, may have been dropped or could even be loose, I don't see where you mentioned using a torque wrench and what brand plugs were installed.
Got it running right. After pulling number 4 I noticed that the spring was not in the boot, so somehow it fell out before I installed it and I didn't notice till taking it apart. I used Motor Craft SP548 X platinum plugs I bought from RockAuto, a trustworthy source for genuine parts I'm told. I used the Innova scanner after reinstalling everything and cleared the code and the check engine light went away. It runs very smoothly now as it should with fresh plugs. However, I am still concerned that not all of the connector clips are firmly clicked in place.
Considering buying these new connectors, which can be installed without splicing or butt connecting
