For some reason, it is contacting the cross member I don’t think I’ve heard of people having to grind it down for the install. Has anyone ran into to this before thanks.
your picture is throwing me off from this POV. are you sure it's the correct part number? motor mounts okay?
It may have clearance issues when trying to get it in place but not when it's in place. I can try to get a pic or 2 tomorrow...there should be plenty of room if i'm not mistaken
That’s what I was thinking might be a motor mount. In the picture is resting on the crossmember and only gets worse when trying to align the mounting bolts. Seems it would need about a half inch taken off the crossmember minimum. Figured I’d make a post before doing that Part number should be good
Yeah, I can see it looks like if you were able to clock it to line up the bottom bolt, you would need a lot to clear the cross member. (after taking the pic in next post, height seems correct but length is the issue)
I only had to grind like 3/32" and that was only to get the denso in place.
have you already had the denso installed, or this is the first time running a denso?
What is your truck? I'm also curious what holes your transmission goes in on the tranny crossmember. I know some go in the front set and some in the rear...not sure if that has any effect
here's a poor pic of mine. I'll try to get better pics tomorrow.
There is enough room in the bolt holes for the engine and transmission mounts to slide the entire engine/transmission assembly back far enough for the starter to clear the cross member.
first time with the denso transmission is mounted on the fwd position.
heading back to the truck now I don’t wanna take 3/4 of an inch off the crossmember. Additionally, if I barely fit it in and then go off road could be possible the starter smashes into the cross member. Unfortunately, may end up buying another starter today and sort this out later 🙃
