Hello from OK

I bought a 1966 F100 custom cab in late February. 352, 3 on the tree. I had forgotten how much of a car guy I used to be. I was obsessed with everything automotive when I was a teenager. I was self-taught on pretty much everything relating to working on cars/trucks. Of course, back then that meant checking out books from the library and picking up a Chilton manual at the auto parts store. That passion was squashed out of me about the time I was graduating high school. I always kept my eye open for something to work on and restore, but I generally didn't have the money or the space to make it happen.

When I moved into the neighborhood I'm in now about 3 years ago, I noticed a cool '66 F100 parked in the neighborhood. I saw it driving around every now and then at first, but then it was parked and never moved. I was curious, but sometimes it takes a long time for the flame to be rekindled. Well, in January a for sale sign went up on it. I called and talked to the owner about it. It had been sitting for two years because of a pinhole leak in the radiator that he just never got around to fixing. I did a ton of research (I didn't know a lot about old trucks) and then we came to an agreement. I bought a battery and we dumped gas in the carb to get it fired up. It wouldn't stay running, but we managed to bully it from his house to mine. Since then I've been working on it and figuring things out as I go. I'll post more over in the "old trucks" section.

Honestly, it's got a couple of bad rust areas that should've probably kept me away from it. But now "learn to weld" is on my to do list. I'll get there eventually. But I'm driving it to work and around town every chance I get. It's been a ton of fun, and I'm looking forward to learning a lot more now that I'm connected here. I've thrown a bunch of pictures in an album on my profile, but I'll post one here. This picture is at my house right after we got her into my driveway. The hood actually cleaned up nicely, but other than that she still looks the same.
