i was just wondering if anyone has ever swaped a ac delco alt on an 86 f150? iwanna try it cause i have three new ac alts and my truck needs one but the internal regulated ford alt is rather pricey!!! thank you for any imput
i just did mine a few weeks ago adn my ford alt. opnly cost me $90 maybe you can take those 3 delco alts and sell them to come hordcore chevys and go buy your ford alternators.
thanks for your imput. i am going to put the ac alt on, mainly cause i am a pipeline welder and the ac is usually more availible than the ford in remote areas that i may work. thanks again guys
You can do it. You need to get the wiring diagram for the AC-delco, and you'll have to eliminate the Ford external voltage regulator. Other than that, you'll just need to modify the brackets and figure out a way to tighten it down
