To be honest brother, I bought a 6.4 starter from O'reillys and it has been FLAWLESS! The same starter has been in the truck for 5 years and spins as fast as the day I installed it.

Mark mentioned the 6.4L starter, any physical difference?
6.0 starter from oreillys
new not reman
no issues
also no issues with new one installed on previous 7.3
I hear you there, seems reman are flooding the market, agree on new. Advance Auto and O'Reilly here are pretty sketchy. Ohio Automotive near me is the Napa dealer also, see what I can squeeze out of my parts guy Monday.
When my 6.0 starter gave up, I purchased a lightly used 6.7 model. I needed to put a bushing in the one hole as it was quite a it larger than the 6.0 bolt size. It spun a lot faster than the original.
Trying to avoid the Chinese knock offs, any recommendations?
Powermaster advertises made in USA. I used their starter and alt on my ‘96/351w 4yrs ago. No issues, works well, not enough miles to say how well they last. I don’t know anything about their 6.0 starters, but Summit sells them.
Wow, what a change. 😁 and a "must have" for any 6.0L owner.
Ordered a new NAPA 6.4L starter, life time warranty, no core required and installed it 30 times 😂 That upper bolt is a pita but once you get the hang of it, goes right in. For all of us salt ridden states spray the electrical connections on the solenoid with Fluid Film. Wasn't happy with the made in China on the box but to be expected in this day and age. $360 plus Uncle Sam for your area.
