2019 F250 Wiper Problems
I just recently bought a 2019 F250 Super Duty from a non Ford dealership. About a day after I got the truck home, I noticed that the wipers wouldn't work at all unless on the highest setting. I toggled off the rain sensing and they still didn't work unless on high.. I read a few posts on the probable issue being an unplugged rain sensor. I checked the sensor and found it to be plugged in. At this point, I called the dealership and told them they had to fix it.
I dropped off the truck with the dealership and waited about a week. I called for updates periodically and they told me they replaced the wiper switch and that didn't solve the issue, and they were still troubleshooting. a few days later i called back and they stated that they had found some "corroded wiring" and were attempting to fix. Finally, about 7 days later they called and told me it was done. I went to the shop and picked up the truck. The wipers worked on all settings. Great! However, i noticed that the wipers "parked" were about 1/4 way up the windshield, and that when i ran them, they slammed down to the park position and then wiped the windshield. I went inside and talked to the service manager, he said that this was normal for this year, and everything was operating as it should. After about 10 minutes of back and forth with this guy, i said **** it and left. I also noticed a few days after getting the truck back that my rain sensing no longer worked.....
What I'm thinking is that they couldn't figure out the actual problem (I'm speculating a bad rain sensor) and just hard wired the wipers somehow to make them work. I have worked on my own cars and trucks since i was in high school and i have NEVER had wipers slam all the way down and then wipe.
So, where I'm at with this is I'm looking for a wiring diagram to see if I can un-**** what they did. Anyone who can help, please comment, share, whatever. This is driving me crazy, and i want to get it fixed!
Thanks!
Apparently whoever was doing the work on it was lazy or didn't know what they were doing.
I had thought about repositioning the arm, but that still doesn't solve the rain sensing issue.
