I am rebuilding a fresh air heater to replace my recirculating heater. I have them on the bench and realized that the fresh air is longer than the recirculating heater. The main bolts, heater hole and tubes lookthe same, but there is an extension and the ductwork is different. The last bolt that goes in the center of the fire wall will not fit my current hole. I don’t see where it would make a difference to use the old box and ductwork. Does anyone know why it’s longer?
In your pics. The rear heater is a 56 fresh air core box with a 56 extension. Added to that heater is a 53-55 extension and 53-55 defrost/heater end
the front one us a 53-55 heater with 53-55 extension and 53-55 defrost/heater end
no heaters in my inventory have 2 extensions on them
sone pics of a 54 and a 55 fresh air still in a truck
both trucks have the 5.5" extension only
the 56 heaters use a 4" extension
here is a pic of a 53-55 (rear heater)
pic of a 56 ( front heater)
I sent you a text if you want to call me to discuss further
