Dolphyn gauges

I bought a set of 6 of these gauges about 3 years ago because they were cheap. I thought I would give my opinion on how they work after 2 1/2 years of use.

The water temp, Oil PSI, and volt gauge have worked flawless and accurately the entire time. The gas gauge is total garbage.

The tach works good except sometimes if you do not let the tack get completely booted up and let the tack swing to full scale and back before starting up it will not work and the only fix is turn the truck off and back on and then it will work.

The GPS speedo is the most accurate spedometer I have ever had, it is dead on but it sometimes takes it a couple miles to get booted up and a really annoying thing is the odometer only shows a display when it is GPS connected and it will not GPS connect inside a metal building so say you can not read the odometer when it is in a building. Also does not work in a tunnel..

Then I have black face gauges and in bright daylight I have a very hard reading the gauges and the LCD odometer reading is invisible on a sunny day but they are all very easy to read at night.

Bottom line is these gauges are just not pleasant to use and I am going to replace them with auto meter.

Curious how the Autometer treats you. Our dashes don’t have the recessed area that provides shade like a newer car, LCD displays are hard to read in the sun. I have a convertible, that I can’t read the radio display in the sun for that reason. My truck has the old analog display for the gauges and speedometer for that reason.

I have a GPS speedo that I will be installing. I am curious to find out where you mounted the antenna.

I do not use a interior rear view mirror, I use a wolfbox camera with the screen tucked up high because of the 6" chop,

if the mirror was in the stock location it would be right in my line of vision. The antenna is mounted behind it, circled in red. It works fine. The antennas are designed to be mounted on top of the dash looking up through the slanted windshield of a modern vehicle. Excuse the bug blasted windshield, got back late last night from a 1,500 mile road trip.

I was going to get a extension cable and mount it to the bottom side of the bed tonneau cover but it works great as it is

Hey, that's a nice spot to mount the GPS module. And it seems you need to blow off the dust on the dash cam.

Might want to look at Speed Hut. They make each gauge set just for you. I'm super happy with mine.
