'55 F-250 gas tank replacement
I see several vendors list a new gas tank for a 1955 F-250. Which ones are the best and which ones should I steer clear of? Truck is stock aside from later rear end. Replacement tank needs to accept the factory sending unit.
I'm a little picky after getting burned with a replacement tank for my '40 Ford that was listed as a direct stock replacement, but definitely was not.

If your sender is working OK just use that in the new tank.
I bought a new tank for my 55 from LMC last summer. Everything seemed to be the same as the factory tank.
I did not put a sending unit in my tank. Instead opted for a “farmer fix” guage. However, the cutout and screw pattern seemed correct to accept the sending unit.
You will also have to reuse your elbow fitting that connects the fuel line to the tank.
