29" tires with a 4.10:1 will do just under 2400rpm at 70mph with the E4OD's OD ratio...I would lean towards that if going to buy new gears otherwise find an H9 pull out axle for the half ton.
I tow all the time, stock rear tires, tow +4500lbs all day long, lowered.
My old truck had 6" lowering, stock tires, tow all day long, axle to frame bumpers were 1" with a 1/2 yard of gravel.
Truck GVWR 6800lbs, short box regular cab.

I enjoy the 4.10:1 gears in my 302/AOD
I need an E4OD then! With the M5R2, I’m at 3k rpm at 74…
Not enough difference to warrant the cost. 3.90:1 used to be a thing. I would still do 4.10:1, tis a box on wheels and will never K.O. great fuel economy
where can i get an actual 3.73 diff to swap the 3.55 in the carrier. links would help. any locking 3.73's?
You haven't even said you went to buy the truck yet. Why would want to rush to modify it, before you even towed what you want with it, yet? You may find the 3.55 gears it has, already more than you need.... and in Florida, I'd be surprised if you didn't. Don't jump the gun. Get the truck, hook it up to what you want and enjoy it. It's not likely you're going to find yourself wanting to mod the truck. I think those with the v8's and who've never owned a 300, have you overly concerned. I think you're going to be pleasantly surprised with the trucks performance as is....... Especially in your location. This is huge. For example, if I lived where do, rather than where I do, I wouldn't have bothered installing turbo's and intercoolers in my heavy duty diesel trucks.....not kidding (I'm 100% sure of it).
Get that truck before someone else does. I don't think you understand how capable it is, just as she sits (and I already know others who haven't owned a 300 before don't either).
