Coolant pressure
I’d also like to point out the following: we’re seeing coolant pressures of up to 18 psi (depending on the bottle cap) and coolant temperatures of up to 105°C / 221°F in the system.
If there’s damage to the head gaskets or cylinder heads, it might be even higher. I’m not sure how well a simple rubber hose with a clamp would hold up here.
That’s why I use thin measuring hoses from the hydraulic industry (pressure-resistant up to well over 4000 psi, stable, and easy to route).
I don’t even want to imagine what would happen if the pressure gauges were mounted near the steering wheel and the hose slipped off the gauge, causing hot steam and hot coolant to escape.
That’s why I have the pressure gauge installed in the footwell.
You can get a good 0-20psi stainless steel gauge in a hydraulic shop/store.

I would like to know more about these hydraulic hoses, for use with other mechanical pressure gauges.
