It’s running. I feel like an idiot.
I was testing the power at the truck side of the plug.
once I saw the terminals were swapped at the box I knew I had power to the red wire.
I adjusted the timing just a little and it fired up and idled.
now I have to figure out why it will crank in any gear?
I think I’ll order a neutral safety plug switch for a 79 and get a new salvage yard plug and that should be as close to stock wiring as I can get.
