My hood is warped. I am replacing my fiberglass hood that fits with this metal one that does not. I measured them and the metal one is 3/4” wider. I put on a flip kit on today and it works great. There is still a little adjusting to do. But the drivers side roller will not line up and when I push it on the roller it still hits the fender.
thinking about running a adjustable style brace from the top hung hole to the center holes so o can pull it back in. If I do both sides separate I could dial in each side.
Anyone ever done this before? Hood forced closed Drivers side roller Hits fender Passenger side hits but might be fixed with adjustment

before I started tweaking the hood I would remove the flip kit and sit the hood in place and see how it fits.
I ended up adjusting the fenders to the hood with the hood just sitting there. I used some cardboard spacers to get the gap and elevation where I wanted it then put the flip kit on.

Tganks, got me to thinking since I changed hoods to measure the old one to this one, the new one is 3/4” wider
is it 3/4" wider in the front and back or just the back?
Just the back. The front fits great, needs to go over a bit but not much.
I was thinking of rods with a center adjustment mounted on the bolt’s in the middle running to the top hinge hole. Not sure if that will pull it enough, might have to mount to the bottom holes with the roller.

I'll bet that steel hood was bent outward when in storage?? When it was on a truck it shouldn't have gotten bent out-or widened. I wonder if you could buy some threaded rod to go across the rear on inside and adjust(tighten ) the nuts to pull in. Then see where it needs to be and bend hood back then remove rod?? I don't know if this would work but maybe you attach it to hood a ways forward so it would still pull in rear edges but clear firewall, etc. Have to remove air cleaner - hopefully not carb.. Good luck keep us informed how it goes.
