Dropped my transmission this afternoon

We’ll, after a year and a half after Truckstock 2024. I finally dropped my transmission. At 1st glance I need new synchronizers. I’ll have to tear it down more to see if anything else is wrong.

Good luck Dennis. I hope you can fix it and run it by October 1. My wife says she misses your a-oogha horn.

Wow, that 3rd gear synchro is really trashed! I can't think what would bend it up like that.

VanPelt is your man for the parts.

Unless I shifted slowly from 2nd to 3rd it would crunch when I shifted. Leaving Truckstock, I was going down a mountain in 2nd. When I got to the bottom I couldn’t upshift to 3rd. I was 35 miles from the cabin and car hauling trailer. There was enough gas in the tank, with the 4.27 rear we made it. I drove it off the trailer at home and put it in the garage. August 3rd that year I fell at the cabin and broke my kneecap and tore my quad muscles. 2 weeks later my last remaining brother passed away. I had to deal with his estate for a while, now I think I have time to get back to work on the truck.

Sorry to hear about your knee, and your bro, Dennis. I'm sure you'll have that trans good as new soon. I haven't made any plans yet, but I might be able to see you guys this fall...

Good luck Dennis. The hard part is overcoming inertia and getting started. The transmission is dropped, and you are rolling now. Good luck.

Glad you're getting a little truck therapy in Dennis. Doesn't look by the pictures that much other than synchronizers are needed.

One of these days I'm gonna make it out to Truckstock and see you all.

Greg, I hope you can make it. It will be good to see you and your Meadow Truck again.

BJ, I hope you can come. It will be great to meet you and see your 56.

Here's the link for info about the 2026 Central PA Truckstock.
