2019 F350 w/6.2L Starting Issue

Got a 2019 F350 with the 6.2L gas engine and 72,000 miles. Truck has been having a funky starting issue from time to time. The truck will take a second or two to crank and when it does it has a low sorta rough idle then picks up and idles fine. Almost seems like it's starving for fuel for a second. Truck runs fine and only does this every now and then. Trucks been a ranch rig since new so has had a bit of a rough life. It does do the extended crank issue from time to time also but when it does the extended crank it always starts and idles fine. Any ideas on either problem would be appreciated.

Had a code a year ago for the purge valve but it went off after a few days. No code currently. Could the purge valve be the issue?

Possible and a pretty common failure, usually sticking open. Fixed one on a 6.2 today in the shop with the same symptoms. Young kid told us to install a fuel pump for his hard starting issue; we called his mom and got her to let us diag it first

Thanks for the reply. Friend of mine has a mechanic shop and when I had the CEL last year he scanned it and said bad purge valve and it was common problem. The CEL went off so I haven't worried about it again. Truck gets driven daily but only for a few miles feeding cattle. In the summer we drive it more. I'll get it replaced.

First thing I would do is test the battery health, a proper load test, not just voltage.

That's good idea. Battery is 3 yrs old now. The original battery went out with no warning.

At work we have our 2019 shop truck with 135,000 miles in the shop right now for starting issues. I told the shop it was probably either the fuel pump or the purge valve. He called our maintenance foreman the other day and was saying something along the lines that he thinks it's losing its memory and can't figure out the alcohol content of the gas thus causing the hard/rough start. Not really sure what he's talking about and the boss likes to keep us in the dark on things, mostly because he doesn't understand either.

He also said that the IMRC knock wasn't anything to worry about as long as there isn't a CEL. I know the runners are working or there would be a CEL but they are obviously failing or they wouldn't be knocking nonstop.
