I reread your initial post and as the illustration shows there was no filler panel on the bed front or rear. But like I said earlier that might be your only solution at this point. It's probably too late to send them back.

My 1955 F250 bed strips

I bought a bed wood kit, it came with correct length strips. Did you buy the strips separately?
