So went to run errands today, about 4 miles in, stopped at an all way stop, my turn - went then lost all drive - engine spinning, in D - no motion.
Pulled over > P > D - worked again.
Went to Orielys to dump old oil, got back in the truck, intersection with lights, my turn - had to give it plenty of gas then it surged into motion, then 400 yards and i have no drive again, coast into a Fry's Parking lot, push the last 100 yards out of a fire lane.
Check ATF Levels = off the dipstick, no drips under, no leaks visible.
Walk to auto zone and buy a gallon on AFT, dump half in - still nothing. dump another ¼ in, work the gears, give it some revs then something... check the level again - off the dipstick, add the rest of the ATF, drive home.
4 miles to home, few all way stops, and some road works, delay between foot on the gas and motion getting worse and worse - made it home by the skin of my teeth, check the level - off the dipstick. pour in more ATF - thick smoke from the filler tube...
Add abother half gallon then limp the truck into my driveway, slipping gears, no OD, delayed shifting and on the last mile or 2 - no 3rd or 4th gear.
Will do - what am i looking for? you think theres a blockage or something?
You're looking for your radiator broken between the two coolers. Basically your coolant when you remove the cap might just be real nice and pink and frothy. Also, climb under looking to see if your undercarriage is covered like a seal blew out.
If your radiator is clean, then take another vehicle to get more atf. Put the atf in with the truck in neutral and e brake applied. Let it sit in the same spot and run until you find the puddle.

blocked and restricted cooler circuit, my truck had no aux cooler but the radiator had the line to it with a kink. It also puked its fluid multiple times. I had the wrong atf and overheated more than once. Definitely check the cooler flow. Can you give more info about your truck
What about manual 1st and manual 2nd?
how about reverse?
whilst i was experiencing the slippage - no gears worked.
once it cooled down and i added fresh atf - i had traction again, got worse and worse the closer to home i got.
Ill try to inspect the radiator today - been so busy (we became citizens on friday).
Welcome! I bet that was a very long/expensive ordeal. Where did you originally come from?
Many of my clients are emigrants and those people seem to be the proudest Americans I know. The most bitter seem to be the ones that have not experienced how well we have it.

Some of us have had the foreign European citizenship imposed upon us. We don't all share the same perspective and life experiences within US settler colonialism.

I agree with that 99%! I’ve been to quite a few not so pleasant countries Only to come home and see the lack of appreciation for what people have. The ones that put in the hard work to achieve their goals and succeed have always been some of the best people to deal with. Like everything else, bad apples exist.
Again, congrats on being forced to pay taxes! Haha
