Correct 1979 Mirrors ???

I think, but I don't know, those mirrors with the lip around the outside and more square back started in 1980, BUT , I have heard guys say they did have them on late 1979's. I can't say for sure, but they don't look right to me I wouldn't use them.
5 1/4 x 8 1/4 on the left and 6x9 on the right. See what I mean about a bit flat backed?
Maybe the Free Wheeling package (?) had them in black color and they had a plastic mirror head. I got a 79 Bronco that had a black set.
Small one the glass mounts to mirror head. On the larger 6x9 the glass mounts in a plastic gasket.

Next thing you know you tap one or think you need to adjust it and bam the tention tab breaks. Some studs mount with a phillips screw and are flush to the under side of the bracket.
