Have truck in the shop to address P0470 and partially obscured letters/numbers on lower line of instrument panel. Left side is a lot worse than the right. If Sirius is on, channel and song title is partially blocked. The obstruction and unlevel bezel bottom has bugged the crap out of me from day 1. The BS explained below bugs me even more.
Dealer quickly replaced the exhaust pressure sensor for the P0470 but says the obscured icons is normal fitment.
I have seen complaints about this going back to model year 2023. Most are complaining about the IP going completely out (recall) but there others with the exact same issue. Dealer says normal fitment since they checked two other units on the lot and they are the same. Service writer let me know if I disagreed with their diagnosis, call Ford Customer Experience and gave me the number. Took 57 minutes to get to Level 2 there. Level admits that's odd when pressed on the phone. They says (less than 24 hours after contacting) that after a thorough review of my case, the dealer is the best place to have your Ford product serviced. A canned response she has queued up. But where she mis stepped was writing that she asked (as I asked) the dealer to have a Ford Rep to come out and look at my vehicle. Early on in the phone discussion she suggested I pick it up and take it to another dealer Not ready to do that just yet. Service manager has a higher level of customer service and interaction skills and called last Thursday. She says let's wait to see what Ford rep the Ford Customer Experience person had in mind to come out. She says in 7 years, she has seen a Ford rep come out twice and that it was a very long drawn out process to do so. Truck has been there 15 days today.
Complete disclosure - I'm 5'9" on a tall day and sit with the seat base all the way down and back. Recline is normal and not laid back. I have driven for over 50 years and in this position as soon as my legs were long enough to reach the clutch, brake and accelerator. I have been spending a lot of time looking for forums that have members with the same issue. Most of the stuff is about the dash recall but there a a number of folks talking about the same issue going back to 2023. There was a 6' driver of a 2023 F250 that said if his head was 3" from the roof he could clear the obstruction.
I know the bezel can removed, heated slightly and deformed slightly to clear. A new bezel may not be warped and solve the issue. Haven't heard from the dealer for more than a week now. Not sure what is being done other than me racking up more miles in the really nice Expedition Excite loaner. I originally took it in before Christmas and was told 2 weeks to look at the CEL and dash and a 2 month wait for a loaner.. I waited. Like the Expedition but want my Super Duty back.
Any others out there that have the same obstructed letters/numbers/icons issue?
Anyone have a dealer look at it an be told to pound sand?
Anyone out there that has had it resolved at a dealer? If so, what did they do to correct?
If the dealer comes back with normal fitment nothing we can or will do, any suggestions for escalation with Ford?
Sell it. What kind of screen, isnt ALL screen at this point? All that dead space around the cluster is hideous. Ford isnt the only company making retarded choices though.
XL's are still the best trucks. Lol. What trim level do we have to drop down to, to avoid this?

I like the truck and need it to move material and equipment around.
Dealer Service Manager called today and said nothing else can be done and that a Ford rep was in agreement. She wants the loaner back. Will be taking it back on Monday. I asked her to get the Ford rep to put it in writing.
Watched a video of 2024 super duty dash bezel being taken out. Doesn't look that bad. I'm pretty sure I can fix it but will probably get a second dealer to take a look before doing so.
What a frustrating experience — not only to have an obvious problem but then to be told there's no obvious problem with no fix.
Like living in a mad house.
I have this on my 24 Plat Tremor as well only mine is on the right side. I was told it was "normal" which I called bull**** on. Mine was caused by two things. The first is that the panel is too low. That can be fixt by simply loosening the screws that hold the panel and raising it up. It is a pain to do which is why these ****** dealers say it is normal. Ford will only pay at most .25 hour labor and it takes more than that. The second issue for mine is the plastic seal flap that presses against the display on the IPC was cut weird and had a bit of a rise at the ODO and then down again so my lower right screen icons did still display.
You have two choices, demand and don't relent at the dealer that they fix it or attempt to do it yourself. You can do it but you need to be very careful and take your time as trim pieces there snap connectors very easy!
This should be a no-brainer warranty repair, swap out of the surround if it's warped or otherwise defective (seal cut wrong or whatever), and adjust the screen so it displays properly.
My '25 absolutely does NOT look like that. Mine is pretty much centered in the IP surround.
Turned in the second loaner about 10 days ago. Total of ~4200 miles put on two different Expedition excite units. The GM of the dealership and Ops Manager both looked at the vehicle and said it was normal. Nothing they could do. The Service Manager says Rep from Ford agreed but she would not give me his or her name. Total BS from the dealer who sold me the new Truck. Same dealer that said originally said (when I brought it back 2 miles after taking delivery) don't worry, bring it back when you have a chance and we will address..
The level 2 Ford Customer Experience representative who originally said she asked for the Ford rep to look at it has not responded to 2 different emails sent over the last 10 days.
At a loss at this point on next steps but not ready to tear out the trim pieces to get to the instrument panel and its' bezel.
Anyone from Ford on this forum? What are my escalation options now? Going to check another dealer next week.
Stay tuned if you are interested. I will update when something unfolds.
