Upgrades

Hi all, New here. Thinking of having some upgrades done to my F250 Tremor ie... All in one DPF/DEF/EGR/CCV($3495), SPE Fuel System($799), Intercooler Pipe($109), Cold Air Intake(not sure), are these goo ides and am I leaving anything out? Should the intake manifold be on that list? 80k miles.

I did a check and MD requires diesel emissions testing every two years....how are you going to get around that

Sell it, and get a gas truck.

Skip the CAI for sure. I havent seen one that was better than OEM in 20 years.

None of these upgrades or deletions addresses the Achilles Heel of the 6.7L - the CP4 ticking time bomb. Yes, a disaster prevention kit from PPE should prevent catastrophic damage to the entire fuel system, but to eliminate the codes, shut down and unpredictable failure interrupting your trip, just swap to a DCR pump in the first place.

Another Forumn member did remind you of your emissions compliance check. What will you do to pass the inspection? I live in a state that doesn't inspect vehicles any more - KY, the state of confusion.

I have a Bank's CAI and it just makes my truck snarl a little louder. It's more for entertainment than for the performance gains that are claimed. The same goes for their rear differential cover. The PPE engine, trans and front diff pans are mostly for decoration than to improve the drivetrain performance. I know, I installed all. My DCR goes on in the summer and my SD is at 87k miles. I have Bilstein 5100 shocks, an Air Lift 7500XL and front/rear SSBC brakes, a 2.5" front level kit all to finish installing after my new home is built. The Steelcraft Grille Guard has done more to protect my truck than anything else. Yes, the Diesel Dudes sent my truck a weight reduction plan to be installed with a slight tow tune from EZ-Link. Too many more goodies to even mention here.

First things first, my health, and building my new home take precedent over playing with expensive toys.

[QUOTE=BDWSD22;21786947]None of these upgrades or deletions addresses the Achilles Heel of the 6.7L - the CP4 ticking time bomb. First and foremost if your going to spend any money on your truck that you plan on having for a while, GET THE S&S DCR PUMP ! When doing this you eliminate the chance of a catastrophic event that will cost 10K+ when it happens. Only get a Disaster Prevention Kit if you are willing to gamble that you might get left stranded somewhere when you're pump fails. Also if you only want a DPK, get the S&S unit because they engineered, designed and built the first original of it's kind that works 100% ! Watch some videos and see the different results. Don't buy a poor copy for a very sensative fuel system.
