2025 F250 7.3 - A/C Delay

I've been noticing recently that my a/c compressor doesn't seem to engage until 30 seconds or a minute after turning the a/c on. Ambient air temps in the low 80s. I get in the truck, start engine, roll down windows, wait about 30 seconds, begin driving, roll up windows after a minute, then start a/c. Once the a/c does decide to work, it's ice cold within a couple seconds. I've not verified if the compressor is actually engaging, yet. I've also not ruled out a blend air door issue. Is this normal operation?

There is a TSB on the compressors for that year. It should of been done prior to you purchasing it from the dealer, but I would call and check.

I remember reading about this a while back. Is this the TSB you're referring to --> https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/20...16357-0001.pdf

Agree, it is annoying. Even the HVAC cabin air fan on this truck has a delay. There's like a 5 to 10 second delay between turning the fan **** on and the fan actually turning on.

My '25 F250, with a May '25 build date, has these same delays. It's been checked by the dealership and passed whatever the TSB's requirements are.

My '24 has climate control. It does the same thing. I actually think it is a design feature, to let the engine stabilize RPM before adding the load of the A/C compressor. It seems to correlate with the RPM dropping from around 1200 at startup down to around 900. I always wait for that RPM drop before engaging the transmission. Less lunge when it drops into gear.

Come on now, you really can't wait 30 seconds for A/C? Just leave your door open for half a minute.
