Truck communication issues
Truck communication issues
Hi all. So this has been a bit of a saga for me an a learning experience of many things in the diesel truck world. So forgive me if I have incorrect terminology as I’m still learning the lingo (I’m an aerospace engineer and have taught physics at the college level for 30 years, so I know lingo is important!)
I bought a used 2019 F-350 SRW LB King Ranch 6.7L diesel with about 186k miles and a full delete kit. It also has switchable tune on the fly from Motorops in Canada. It supposedly worked fine in Missouri and my new/old partner drove it and said it was good. It got loaded on a transport flatbed and driven from Springfield, MO to Manheim, PA. Now is when the problems started.
The truck wouldn’t start to get it off the trailer. Transport guy was totally baffled. I was there and found that the truck kept saying “no key detected”. When you put the Intelligent Access key in the recess in the console it will fire up. Took it to get inspected. Other than needing front ball joints, no other mechanical issues. But the tunes from Motorops are all gone. And the truck is having major communication issues in the modules. Ac will not blow cold. A dealer said it’s not talking to the rest of the body control modules. The mirrors will fold and telescope, but don’t have the full range of tilt and pan that they should. And none of the IA features work (door handles).
I’ve ordered a new Auto Agent 3 and Motorops said they can put the tunes back in when I get it. Does anyone know if that may solve the AC problem? It only blows relatively hot air even though the dealer did a full recharge on the system. I assume the blend door is just parked in a bad position for cold air. Essentially a default mode.
