Throttle position sensor

Are throttle position sensors interchangeable from other Ford vehicles? I would like a Motocraft TPS for my 1987 F150 but I can't seem to source one. Would the one from a Bronco or Mustang work with my throttle body with a 5.0?

They only made a few different styles
Difference is reverse rotation, and the connector
If it rotates the right direction and the plug plugs in, you're good to go
I still have several in my toolbox for testing

A TPS from any Ford truck chassis (Van, F series, Bronco) will work. The 5.0 and 5.8 are the same ones, not sure about any other engine. If you cant find a motocraft, standard motor products makes decent quality, still working for 2 years on mine at least.

the 4.9 has a different connector (same as the other engines post 96) for the 95 older, and its reverse rotation i think. The 7.5 i think follows the 4.9 design
