General Questions/Starting Therapy
Recently acquired a 91 F150 4WD with the 300-6 4 Speed Bulldog
Truck was originally a 5.8 auto, I have no idea what year the motor is from but it is EFI, and it needs a head gasket. While parts browsing I noticed that some of the gasket sets I saw were for trucks prior to 02/03/1991, some were for trucks after.
Is there any crucial difference between the gaskets? Here are both Felpro part numbers if anyone can tell me the difference. Thank you

Did you visually look at the gaskets?
Somewhere in those years they switched to a "MLS" type head gasket
Switched from the old composite fiber / graphite type
You can look for a valve cover sticker for a calibration that will start with a year number (maybe)
You could look at a few sensors or the processor and get a rough idea of the year
