6.0 transmission Help!
I am having trouble with my 2006 F250 super duty 6.0 lariat. I was driving up my hill to my home and all a sudden a large jolt hit and the acceleration when I went to give it gas completely gave out. I had to pull over safely and get the truck towed. I shut the truck off and see if acceleration would work which did not. The truck starts and idled up fine but Nool acceleration when giving it gas. So my next steps were to tow it and take it to a known shop below are notes the tech for the shop noted when doing an inspection.
Here are the tech notes for the F250
Scan for codes; P0730 incorrect gear ratio-gear control malfunction, P0720 output speed sensor circuit fault, P0722 output shaft speed sensor no signal, P0791, P0793 intermediate shaft speed sensor circuit fault.
Started vehicle to verify no throttle response. Throttle response is ok. No transmission engagement. Check fluid, level & condition, full & ok. Attempt to engage transmission & move vehicle, lack of data matching ISS & OSS setting immediately and output shaft speed sensor codes. Installed line pressure gauge to test port pressure. Line pressure test passes. Need to teardown to inspect. Possible converter &/or internal trans failure.
Now they believe it is a tranny issue… they say it will cost me +7k.
Anyone out there now of anybody that could fix this for cheaper or give me an exact diagnosis if they had similar issues ? Or are there any known companies that can fix a transmission for cheaper? Would love to hear your feedback back’ thanks!
Almost sounds like a wiring issue to me, but I’m no automatic trans expert. In another post he mentioned that the line pressure was ok.
