my 2016 f350, 6.2l dually, xl, pickup, has a persistent problem that trouble code reads rear left abs speed sender, although there is only one central sender near the differential in rearend, and i have replaced that sender twice with o.e.m. units, then a Autozone part, but sporadically i get the brake warning light, with loss of speedometer reading, usually for just a few seconds, along with traction control warning light on. I figure there must be a problem with the abs module itself, as the sender does not seem to affect the "phantom" trouble code and intermittent malfuntion. What do i do to get the module replaced or repaired? Do you have to get a replacement module programmed to the vehicle? Is it easily removed from the abs pump? Thanks for experienced help, it has been a frustrating ongoing problem. I need to have the abs functioning for safety, as i am frequently hauling heavy loads in this truck.
What is the DTC number?
Can you see wheel speed sensors viewing live data?
The wiring diagram I'm looking at shows a sensor in the diff as well as at both rear wheels
there are no wires going to wheel areas on rear, just a pair going to sender near differential in center of rearend. Ill have to break out my scan tool again, but remember on numerous occasions when i checked before, the code indicated the wheel speed sender on a specific side, my full time mechanic, who has not solved the problem, has also indicated that the code has to ve referring to the single rear speed sender, although it is hard for me to understand, or believe that this is the case, especially since replacing the one sender is not the solution. A cab and chassis truck may have different abs senders than my dually pickup truck. I hate not being able to solve and repair a mystery like this one!
