I have a 2005 Ford F350 DRW 6.0 liter truck. The speedometer , odometer, and cruise control stopped working. I swapped the electronic unit from a donor ABS to my truck's ABS module. This fixed the problems. I got the donor ABS off eBay. The part number of the donor ABS must match the original ABS.
The swap was done at my dealership. It failed because I provided a donor ABS with a part number that did not match my truck's original. The speedometer and odometer resumed working but gave incorrect readings. And the ABS light remained illuminated in the dash board. The dealership had tried to write my trucks data to the ECU, but the ECU would not accept it.
I then obtained a donor ABS with correct part number for another swap. Everything now works as it should. I also did three simulated emergency stops, and the ABS functioned perfectly.
