Not for the first generation F series... From the inside, the doors are locked by lifting the handle. One should also note that the outside key and the inside lock mechanism do not work together - they are independent locks, so if you lock the door from the interior, you can't unlock if from the exterior with a key.

My experience have been with the 53-56 trucks and was just assuming the earlier ones worked some what on the same principle . I believe Wayne answered your question. I'll remain quiet...
