Trailer brake controller mod video
I tried using the search but no luck. A short time back there was a youtube video wherein a guy was showing how to reroute the seven pin trailer connector power wire (I think it's pin #7?). He said that wire gets its power from the trailer brake controller and if there's a short the controller gets ruined so he was suggesting to reroute that wire away from the controller and to a dedicated source.
I tried google as well, no luck.
