Is it possible to install Trailer Brake Controller on 2024 F-150 w/5.0L V8 Fx4 Lariat? I recently bought a 2024 F-150 and seems to everything needed to pull a camper (receiver hitch, 7/4 pin connection, etc.) but does not have the trailer brake controller. I have been to multiple ford dealerships and they seem clueless as to what they need to do exactly and expect the customer to do all the research. I have even went to a 3rd party to attempt and install an aftermarket trailer brake controller, just to be told that they couldn’t install it for whatever reason. Has anyone or is anyone experiencing the same thing and if so what was the resolution?
That sounds scary. Any competent dealer should be able to install a trailer brake controller. My quick google search showed them about $285 + $200 for installation.
Hard to believe that all trucks don't come standard with these in 2024 . Hopefully it's just a plug and play application and a software update at the stealership.
This is for a 23', so I'm not sure if they are the same or not. If so, it might be this simple. Just a plug and play connection and use the controller of your choice if the dealer is not helpful.
On the 15-20s, it was a simple plug and play, and activate at a Dealer or with Forscan. It is very important to use an oem tbc, and not a knock off, many bad issues with knock off.
