55 F100 dashboard control locations

Is there a layout of the 55 F100 standard dashboard control locations? Actually, is there an owners manual for 55 F100, cause that may show it? My dash has surprising things like ignition key is far away from push start. Also, heater was added with controls angle-mounted under dash. And if I add EFI, I'd pull the choke out. I'll add pictures soon, but wanted to launch questions now or layout.

I don’t have a pic of my dash, but you’re describing original setup. Key on right, push start on left. Choke and throttle on right. Two or four heater controls under dash.

Abe has pics of his dash, and will probably be along shortly.

From L-R: starter button, wiper, lights, manual throttle, choke, ignition, and far right is a spot for the cigar lighter. The PO put the 4 way flasher switch there. If your truck didn't have the manual throttle and cigar lighter the holes plugged with a hole plug.

That little silver pull switch above and to the right of the starter button was the only non-stock item on my truck. I found out it was had wires going to the of the bed. The original owner had a fruit farm. It must have connected to a light source so they could pick fruit at night.

Here is a picture of my 54 dash. You can see the hole plugs. And the original location of the recirculating heater controls.

To answer one of your questions, yes there is a 55 owners manual. They are reproduced. It does show the dash layout. Buy one.

Imagine that, a key, 5 ***** and a button was all you needed to operate a motor vehicle. Today, it takes a supercomputer, a steering wheel with 400 buttons and 15 modes, a 12 inch television in the middle of your dash, and all kinds of lights, warning bells and buzzers to scream at you, distract you from your job and tell you what you're doing wrong. It sounds more like a wife than a car. You can't even change the channel on the radio without a PhD in electronics.

Hey pltnsgt06, that picture is perfect. Where did you get that? I don't know any owners manuals with 3226 pages in it.

And 52Merc, I thought your reply was a riot. I'll show it to my wife.

3226 is not a page number, but the Ford's picture identifier.

It can be found on this publication's page 5:
