Need help ASAP
Ok so here is my dilemma, I just replaced the camshaft, lifters, pushrods, rocker arms, along with a bunch of other miscellaneous things on my 2014 f350, when upon first startup the screen immediately read “engine power reduced” and the truck threw a bunch of codes, and if I cleared them they came right back, so is there any idea what could be wrong? And where should I start to try to fix it?
when I did this type of work on my prior truck...there was a progressive torque proceedure for rocker arms that involved rotaing the crank manually
is your EBP and throttle body connectors connected
is this truck deleted mechanically but still with factory tune?
the egr related codes is not as a result of your latest starting session.....those are left over codes from the last time the engine was running....egr is not activated during startup...the codes cant be cleared becuase the codes are perm codes that are cleared by the PCM once the PCM verifies the condition no longer exists. egr upper limit codes are due to the PCM expecting a specific drop in MAF flow and associates that with EBP and MAP readings...as the egr opens via throttle body...MAF decreases. but if you have leaks on inter cooler hoses it will throw that off...if your EBP sensor is bad it will throw readings off since EBP is used in EGR expectation calculations. having said all that....I would not assume that the no start is due to the codes you are seeing. you disassembled the fuel system as part of your work and you have to make sure all air is out of the fuel system...ensure you have lift pump pressure and ensure you have no air from lift pump to CP4 and CP4 forward.....if you have lift pump pressure you need to cycle the key on with out starting for 30 seconds and cycle off and repeat 6 times to push the air out.
if you are out side in the cold the fuel could be gelled throwing your investigative work off.
