Door keypad install

My previous 2026 f450 I ordered with the keypad for $450, it was already cut into the door. My new 26 f450 I traded for didn’t have that option, so I paid the dealer $440 to flash the truck and 2.5 hrs labor to wire up the keypad. I supplied the keypad I got offline for $30. I originally ordered a new pillar from the dealer for $67 but it came in Matt black. So I had to take plan B, use the Matt black one temporary till I could fine a gloss black pillar, or buy a Matt black rear door pillar. I decided since I was going to trash the existing one to remove the pillar myself and trace it in cardboard and use my dremmel tool to cut into the pillar. Took 2hrs to do but turned out perfect and saved money. Now I’ll take the Matt black pillar back. I used my ford pass points from two truck purchases in past 60 days to pay for it.

i am now going to do my 25 f350 all myself as I was in the back assisting the tech at the dealer on how to do it. Really easy to do, and door panel comes right off. My fear was breaking clips, etc. but really easy process.

if I did it myself it could be done for $30 in total. 4 hrs of labor.

you can also buy a stinsile online to cut your door pillar also.

great job, I didn't know this was possible to do if it didn't come factory. So the wiring just plugs in somewhere and then it comes down to reprogram the computer?

yes, remove the door panel and behind there is a plug. Fish the wire down the door, and plug it in. Remove your door pillar, you can buy a template online and cut it out on your existing pillar or just buy a new pillar along with the keypad.

use forscan at your dealer or yourself to program the truck.

There is a couple good videos on YouTube of the process for doing the install yourself
