5-6% is roughly invoice pricing. Probably depending on bling level. Dealers have something thing like 3% on hold back on invoice. Plus whatever other monies they get on the back end.
yeah 5-6% is just X plan, anyone can get that with a membership to a number of orgs that anyone can join.
I'm actually keeping my EAA membership active for that reason in case I want to replace my 22 CCLB with a newer one before they make a big change for 28.
May I ask which dealership you got that deal from? I am currently looking at either ordering through Granger or finding someone in the PNW who will price match.
Use the quote from Granger. 3% under invoice. I took their quote to a dealer closer to home. I’ll be buying my maintenance package from Granger though.
Invoice is 6% of base truck msrp, 9% under add-on including motor selections. Easy to calculate from there.
for a lariat, the savings is about 11%, platinums will be slightly higher due to packages representing a higher percentage of total truck cost and having a higher markup.

Thats exactly what I'm in the process of doing. I messaged a dealer today to get a price for my build and they told me through text that they will beat any Ford dealer price by $1k. I sent them the invoice from Granger (blacked out their name) and have yet to hear back from them. So we will see what happens.

I hope it works out better for you than it did for me. I tried the same thing in the Southeast, had several dealers tell me they would beat anyone else's price, including one of the largest Ford volume truck dealers in the US. But when I came back to them and gave them Granger's price and low fees, they either (a) respectfully got back to me right away and told me that they couldn't touch that price, (b) told me we are not in this business to lose money, (c) told me good luck you're gonna have to wait a year for that truck (d) told me I should support local dealers and not buy out of state, or (e) scampered into hiding like cockroaches in the light.
Now I did have a no fees, no added extras, no commissions dealer in neighboring state come close, really really close. I was seriously considering going with them, but when I tried to follow up and ask about the details of placing an order with them, they unexpectedly just went silent and stopped responding to my emails.
In the end, I went with Granger, and will drive the truck 1000 miles back home and see some of the Midwest while doing it. Samantha at Granger was fast, efficient and on the ball at every juncture. From what I gather they are very experienced at doing business this way, and it definitely shows.
I fully intended to go with Granger and incorproate my pick up into my driving vacation. I shopped 5 dealers using the Granger quote (blacked out Granger info) in my area and 4 dealerships pretty much said your a-e above. Surprisingly, one local dealer matched Granger's price line by line. Only 8 miles from me.

Wow, you lucked out with that one. Yeah, I was really excited about the one dealer that came close, even though it was 4 hours from me (still a lot closer than Granger). But from their behavior, unlike Granger they did not seem to be very excited about selling me a truck at the price they quoted.
Anyway, just seems that in my neck of the woods, only those dealers that don't have high doc fees plus extras to contend with have even an ice cubes chance in hell of touching Granger's OTD price. But there are only a few zero fee (or low fee) dealers down here. I would not even waste my time even shopping the high doc fee dealers again if I buy another Ford vehicle.

I had one dealer respond that he would match Granger's price. BS, he sent me a quote that was maybe X pricing and then had a few line items that included paint protection, window tint, high doc fees, etc.
