My theory is a lot of folks don't know these trucks have quad beams even on low. They just look at the quad headlights and assume you have your high beams on and start flashing. I give them the curtesy one flash back letting them know I don't have my high beams on. I love the quad beam look...

Nah, I'm not sure that's it. I rarely, if ever, get flashed when I have my low beams on. OTOH, I have had MANY people coming at me with obscenely bright lights, give them a flash, then they bright me in return...and then they go by and I can see the nose of their truck is pointed at the sky...yeah they either ran out of adjustment or just didn't bother to adjust them.

By lowering I assume you mean the truck? You can't lower the lights, but you can aim them down a little ( I had to) , and drive with the so called fog lights on. (it seems to help as people think brights are off if fogs are on, at least other truck drivers)

That's kind of why the thought, so really you have factory halogen with aftermarket LED bulbs, and correct?

If that is the case, you were going to get a completely different answer as to why you are blinding other drivers.

Correct. In this case, OP likely doesn't have the right replacement bulbs, they're not oriented properly, OR they are simply too bright and not spec'd for on-road use (many aren't).

OP, there are several things you can do, depending on what you have for bulbs.

- Double-check to make sure you cross-referenced your bulbs properly, and that they are rated for on-road use. If they're not, the packaging would state 'for off road use only' or something to that effect...in which case if an officer of the law decided to, they could ticket you for it.

- If you have a style of bulb that can be 'clocked,' then make sure they are clocked properly for your housings. There is a reason halogen bulbs have the offset 'keys' molded into them, and it's so the filaments line up properly with the reflective part of the housings. A LOT of engineering went in to focusing the beams, and if your LED bulbs aren't properly clocked then your beam output isn't properly focused.

Address these concerns and you'll likely find you get flashed a lot less.
