Dealer is working on a build sheet for a 2026 F250 Lariat ,7.3 gas,6 3/4 box 4x4, Lariat Premium, 3.73 lock etc No sunroof, Chrome, Fx4, Tremor or blackout
I see dealers in reno offering just over 9% off of MSRP
Is 10% off of MSRP a reasonable target for a truck that the dealer doesnt not need to carry in inventory?

5-6% is roughly invoice pricing. Probably depending on bling level. Dealers have something thing like 3% on hold back on invoice. Plus whatever other monies they get on the back end.
9 to 10% off MSRP is a great price but make sure you get the out the door price before buying. Dealers who offer great discounts off MSRP claw it back with large documentation and other fees.
Reno Ford should be Corwin.
I ordered a 2026 F-250 from them. Everything went well... until truck was delivered. They told me they had someone who wanted it, and I needed to meet the price they offered. Even though I had a signed order form.
I would never go back to them.

I got 6% off mine when I ordered from my local dealer, however, I also paid a deposit at the time of order. This locked my order in, and at the price I was quoted, despite all the price hikes while waiting for my truck to be built... and in late 2021, there were several! But there are some slimy dealerships out there that will try to slip one over on you. A few years back there was a dealership called Chapmans that posted here and took a bunch of orders but when folks trucks started coming in they didn't stick to the price at time of order, instead they charged folks for the price when the truck arrived... for many that was to the tune of several thousands more... So, if the price seems to be too good to be true, be wary. Read reviews and go with your gut. If you do decide to go with them, ask a ton of questions about price guarantee and how to lock in your order, even if that is paying some down. If they try to skirt you, take it as a sign.

Boy what a crap job, I would post a negative review where ever I could. Google, Facebook and others work wonders. In the mean time find a reputable dealer.

That's terrible. Did you put down a deposit too? Regardless, they should have honored their quote. Ridiculous.

That's pretty crappy of them. Hopefully you put down a deposit. When I ordered my '25 from a local place I put down a deposit and that locked in my price even though by the time I took delivery the MSRP had gone up a couple times.
I never thought about it and everytime a truck was ordered a deposit and signed paperwork from the dealerships was customary. But I always follow-up with emails with very specific questions or responses so there is no dought if down the road legal steps need proceeding.
I guess if no money is put down maybe the dealership has away to sell it?

My local dealer wouldn't place the order without a down payment OR an A/Z/X/D plan number. Deposit was refundable, the plan number had an expiration date. I could see a high-volume dealership placing an order without either of those, but since it locks in a price at time of order it seems foolish not to do so.
I signed the order, put a deposit down, and even had x-plan. I knew when the truck came in, so I went in and asked them when I could sign and pay. Was told..."We have someone who wants it. Pay me whatever the price, or it's going to them."
It took just over one week to get my deposit mailed back to me.
I would never deal with them again.

That sounds borderline illegal, but I am not an expert on state laws. Here, if you've got a signed order with a deposit, they're supposed to honor that unless there's something about the truck you don't want and refuse delivery.
Why not go to Granger Ford and 3% off invoice (not MSRP) and if you finance with them you get another 1% off? Many folks on this forum have great experiences with them including me when I picked mine up last week.
That’s a terrible business. You ordered/design the truck with your preferred options, dealer takes no hit on the interest and decides to sell to highest bidder. Making a whole 3k or so they must be the only game in town, sounds like a charming manger and sales team. Usually it’s a top down deal and water finds its own level. They need a new GM.
I would be way, way up the ladder at Ford customer service.
Reno Ford, shameless profiteers.
