Hello, Anybody have the routing of the heater box control cable? the controls on mine are super tight to move. I feel like Im missing a mount for it in the dash?
Thanks
Not I
I have hundreds of manuals they gave us free at schools and the dealer
Nothing for a 69 Van
I have 69 Mustang manuals that do show cable routing
Online resources might not do squat for you, you need a Ford service manual, 4 manual set or at least the body manual
Lot of old van enthusiasts on here, maybe someone has the pages they can post
Otherwise, I would see what your local library has to offer
AllData probably won't say much about a '69 van HVAC, let alone HVAC controls
Same as the Chiltons my library offers, it is flat out lame
When it comes to HVAC some of those manuals say to refer to qualified personnel
If you are just wondering where the cable goes or went, I'd be looking for witness marks of where the cable has been for 50 years
There will be marks to see
The cable consists of a cable and a sheath
They stick and the sheath gets worn into
Need to pull that cable apart and plan on replacing it
Same as the door in the case
Pull the cable away and verify smooth operation of the door
That's what I'd do
You might be able to take it off and free it up
i work on a few old MGs and have to replace those kinds of cables once in a while
i use the local bike shop to get the cable sheaths and then find the wire I need
One trick I learned on my motorcycles was running oil down the inside of the cable housing then extending the cable back and forth to distribute the oil.
