Hello, I am thinking about making my own headliner instead of using the cardboard ones available at lmc, d.c.,etc. I have the big rear window, so pictures show the headliner in 3 pieces. Given that the perimeter is screwed to cab roof all the way around. What holds the 2 side pieces in place where they join to the main piece, just something like 2 sided tape, or are they just wedged in place by pressure? Thanks.
Nothing holds the top of the side pieces to the roof portion. I recently re-did my headliner. I used the 1/8" particle board from Home Depot. 4x8 sheet for less than $20. I did a diamond-sewn pattern on the roof part & just plain vinyl for the side panels. Also added an aluminum strip along the top at the rear to help keep the material in place. Toughest part was trying to get all the curves to the boards right.
Thanks for the response. I've used the white plastic shower panels before, behind the seat, with good success. Might try it first on the roof. Not much more for it than a sheet of masonite. I guess the screws above doors, and the angle of the side pieces has enough pressure to hold them to the main piece. I will wrap them with cloth or vinyl. Thanks again, larry
