Removing Headliner, Any Tips?

I am going to install a CB antennae on the roof and need to know if there are any tips for taking it off and putting back on again. There is already an antennae on the roof from the PO, but it is a business band type and will not work for the CB.

Is it for that CC in your avatar picture?
I can tell you from personal experience that the headliner will not come out of the cab of the truck without damaging it without removing either the windshield or the rear window.
You'll have to fold it up to get it through one of the doors and that will put big crease/fold marks in the headliner.
I had to work around mine when I did my install.
Basically you have to remove all the trim around the doors and windows, then the headliner basically comes down.
Do your work from there and put it all back together.
.
A brand new hole saw of the correct size is good. Nothing is more aggravating than a dull saw that makes more heat than cuts.
And you don't have to put so much pressure on it that you are afraid of bending the roof down. Just a light pressure and slow drill speed and the hole saw will take care of the rest. Use a drop or two of cutting oil.

Yep, the CC is what I'm doing. There is already a hole there from the PO who had a business band radio and I am hoping the holes are about the same size. I was thinking I may be able to just get one side "loose" and lowered enough that I don't have to take it out all the way. I know the old coax runs down through the drivers side pillar from when I put my gauges in, so I may have a lead line to pull through as well.

How did you do that without leaving crease marks?
When I tried folding mine I could see creases forming right away so I straightened it back out and worked around it.

I just removed the headliner in my crew cab last month. No creases and I didn't take out any glass. It comes out through the driver or passanger side doors. I removed the seats to make sure that the angles were easier to get it out. I did it by myself and installed it again by myself so it's definitely doable but it does take some time. Just be carefull with it. It will fit throught the doors at a diagonal. The length of the diagonal of both front doors is ~62" if I remeber correctly and the width of the headliner is 62" so its tight but it will fit

I guess I had tunnel vision that day and couldn't see how to get it done.
Thanks for the tip.
