Hats off to PHP

On the advice from Vinny I sent my hydra in for testing. I knew it was damaged, self inflicted damage. I honestly didn’t think they would repair it free but to my surprise they did. Big thanks to them, I didn’t anticipate it at all. It’s refreshing and appreciated.

The backstory. I had installed the hydra in my e350 cargo van. The pcm mounts above the brake pedal in the e series, it’s snug in that area. A few months later I replaced my column assembly in that van and didn’t re zip tie the update cable adequately. Leaving a job site on my way home my van dies. It was a quick sputter and nothing. Crank no start. I quickly see the update cable has found its way near the brake pedal. Even though my hydra was taped to the pcm my stepping on the cable was enough to disturb the contact from hydra to pcm.

I focused on spending as little to rectify this as possible, again self inflicted and I felt dumb. A junk yard truck pcm got me by until a jy van pcm improved my overall attitude. By this point my van has had a few different pcms in it. Also my tune is via a super chips 1705. I think my hydra had set on top of my toolbox for 2 years. A reminder that stupid happens. Last week a quick message to Vinny and my hydra took the trip to Php. Fortunately I had my receipt from 2022. I had little hope that my hydra would be fixed but to my surprise I’ll have it Wednesday and the repair only cost me price of shipping.

Php exceeded my expectations.

It's hard to find good customer service anymore. We need to be sure we support the companies that still provide it!

PHP was always great to me, which is why I was a customer for my 7.3L "career". They went out of their way more than once to help me out when they didn't need to, which is not very common any more.
