powerbrakes locking up

Hi Folks
Hopefully someone can help diagnosing drum brakes lock up. Any Speed as soon as my foot touches the pedal there on! So i guess im complaining to much power brake?
What Ive completed,
NewMC and Booster
adjusted pushrod booster to MC
Full BF flush and re[placement
all 4 wheel drums pulled checked and serviced
bled .no leaks

So what did i miss is there ab adjustment , or what is making the pedal so sensitive?

Thx for listening!

If you went a larger piston in the master cylinder that will do it. Just as installing a MC for disk brakes on a drum system.

Were the brakes doing this before or after the booster/MC replacement?

Four wheel power drum?

They were unbalanced originally and a bit grabby, now there nice and even but full on with a toe leaning on the pedal! If I m on a smoothie enough drive I can feather them with slight pressure but any deeper than a 1/2 inch in your locking up all 4

Re-check your pushrod length (both pedal to booster, and booster to MC), sounds like you may be too long. Just a thought.

hey thanks for reply ! Booster to MC re-adjustment That’s on the todo list, I thought it was adjusted correctly when install(1/16 gap) but who know maybe something wasn’t seated quite right? Too long might be slightly engaging the MC ? Not sure …I never had the luxury of power brakes in my old drum vehicles …maybe their working correctly?
as for the pedal adjustment, that shouldn’t have anything to do with brake adjustment or should it? I thought it would just be a comfort adjustment

Were the brakes power or manual as built?

Where did you source the parts, BOX STORE REMAN or an aftermarket 'kit' (added booster)?

yes powered as built. The MC came from a reliable source, booster a website parts but both were popular name brand replacement parts.
MC

Dorman M83579 Brake Master Cylinder

I contacted Dorman directly to confirm fitment, maybe they lied???’

Where did you source the booster, REMAN or a UNIVERSAL ONE-FITS-ALL MODEL?

It sounds as though either the MC is too large (piston sizing), the booster is too aggressive or possibly the pedal ratio is not correct. It was like this when you acquired it?

when I bought it I changed the booster and MC almost immediately, they never worked flawlessly and did bite if you weren’t careful, that’s why I’ve changed the MC ….again and did all the hoop jumping

the new booster was vehicle specific from a parts website” partsavatar” It was a match set I’m pretty sure it’s
I’m

A1 Cardone 54-73515 Power Brake Booster

I know I didn’t have to do much of anything to the pedal when I installed it, went back almost exactly back , the way the brake light switch is mounted it can only work one way? I know I wasn’t pushing in the booster to set the pedal?
