Hello everyone, glad to be here. I have a 1987 F-250 that was my grandfather's. I am trying to keep the truck as original as possible. I am hoping to find some people who have a good amount of knowledge about the old 4180-C carburetors that came with the 460 engines. There seem to be some differences between the E5HE-ED version and the older-style 4180-C; all the technical information I can find doesn't even show or mention the same electric choke.
@JLyon88 Welcome! You are in the right place! Very nice looking truck. I have seen a few around and they do not look nearly as clean as your grandfathers! Keep is going!

Thank you, man, I see a few around here in Utah as well, but they usually are beaten to a pulp, sadly. I will keep it going for the rest of my life! Hopefully the paint lasts, but I am sure it will need a new coat one day. If only they could still work with the original lacquer paint.
Thank you! Finally getting around to rebuilding an original carburetor I found. Since the one on this truck started puking fuel in a place that would require a machine shop to fix.
Is the actually the original that used to be on it or one just like the original?
I was able to hunt down the very same one as the orginal that had never been rebuilt. So old guy had it sitting on a shelf for the last 25 to 30 years, still had all the tamper proof stuff in place. I did use the base plate though from the one that came with the truck since the air to fuel adjustment screws were already set for being up around 5000 ft.
