I'm posting on behalf of a neighbour without internet access or experience. He has a 1988 f250 XL 351 fuel injected.
Wants to change the fuel filter but can't find it! Has looked in manuals and consulted his regular mechanic, but still no luck!
Can anyone help? I'm sure the location will be similar on a number of other vehicles... what do you think?
The manual says it's frame mounted, under the driver's seat but it is not there.
wher else could it be? it looks like a small can . the fuel lines hook into it on both sides (front/rear ) look at everything along the left frame rail. you will find it. it can't just be removed. mine is right inder the driver seat. i have an 88 supercab longbed
I also have a 1988 F250 with a 5.0L and the fuel filter is mounted under the driverside seat on the frame right next to the fuel pump. It looks like a small oil filter.
mine had a plastic cover over it if memory serves me correct on the 89 but it was right on the frame and its definately under the drivers seat inner frame rail and was quite easy to get off if i remember correct. i got rid of the 89 couple years back so i am tellin you all from memory lol
