I have '92 F-150 standard cab flare side. The door on the passenger side has recently started to rattle and sound like it is not closed all the way, even though it is. How do I adjust it.
Our Suburban does that with the drivers door. You close it, and it will have an inch and a half or so of travel, but it locks and everything. We just have to slam it really hard (anger management) to stop it. My Taurus does the same if the lock stuff gets messed with (people putting fingers where the lock and closing mechanism is). Try pulling on the door handle and then lifting anything that looks like it will move upwards. That's always fixed my door...maybe it will help.
You can adjust the striker bolt, by loosening it and moving it in. It takes a torx socket and they can be TIGHT sometimes. Also make sure your plastic bushing around the striker bolt isn't worn out or missing.
