I started my 2024 F350 yesterday with the Ford pass app and turned on the extended time also. Truck ran fine for 30 minutes and shut down as it should. I was pre-warming things because it's was so cold. About 30 minutes after the warmup I went to restart the truck just before I was going to get in but got the warning on the app that I exceeded my remote start number and the truck was not allowed to start. So I went to start it with the keyfob and I could not start it with that either. I had to go get in the truck to start it. WTF! Am I only allowed one remote start from the app? Has anyone else noticed anything like this? I should be able to start it as much and as many times as I want. What is the logic behind this?

I haven't played with the Ford logic, but I know on my old Rams, if they were remote started 3 times without a drive cycle (key/button being pushed on the dash), they would not start again.
I believe it's a safety thing, in case you park it in a garage - running for that long indoors with the door closed could cause a large buildup of carbon monoxide, that could then seep into your home. Do I know this for sure? No. But there's plenty of safety regs out there because of all kinds of what might seem silly things, but they're there because (usually) someone died or was seriously injured from whatever the reg is written to help prevent.
Every vehicle with a factory remote start that I have ever owned limits the number of remote starts before a key cycle is required. Usually 2. When you remote started from the app that was #1. When you clicked the extend time option, that was #2 technically. It does not matter if you do the start from the app or the fob, you only get so many remote starts before the "key" has to be used either to finish the remote start and drive or to start the truck cold.
Each remote start attempt is limited to the max run time - for Ford that is 15 minutes. I have seen 10-15 depending on the brand. So 2 remote starts stacked up is a max 30 minutes.

I think there's also a 30 minute max idle time regardless of how the truck was started. I started and idled my truck this weekend while making some FORScan changes. At 30 minutes got a message in the cluster and she shut down. Had to restart.

There is, although there are supported methods to disable it with a keyed start using the PTO programming - there are commercially available high idle switches that handle this too. That does not apply to remote starts.

Ford remote start is **** poor set up only allows one remote start with one extend 15min for 30 min run time. After that it locks out remote start then you have to start with key. Aftermarket remote starts dont have the stupid lock out can remote state as many times as you want. Don't know the reason for the dumb restriction. I'm wheelchair user if it's-20 below zero I start truck 8 hours after shut off let it run 30 min. Then I have to go outside to start truck with key. It's a pain in the butt!

It is not just Ford. I have owned plenty of cars and trucks from the big 3 and all of them are similar in their shutoff timers.

One of my garages are attached to the house, Even with the overhead door open, after a while you can smell the gas exhaust. (Old lady loves remote starts)
My garage is fire rated with double 5/8, it is ground level with the rest of the house. If we lived in a traditional house with living quarters above the garage...... Oh boy we would be dead.
The odd thing is, our Kubota 1100C will idle for hours in the garage with the door open and we never smell diesel in the house.
My other garage is post with steel walls, Ford passes iffy on starts.
I had remote start it with the Ford pass today. No dice.

You can also disable the 30 minute limit by turning on Generator Mode on the the ProPower (which elevates the idle).
