Cool Remote start problem

I have a 2002 4.0 Ranger with remote start. It will start and run fine for about 2 seconds. Then, it is like something shuts of the power. Spent $125.00 today and not help at all.

Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like you just installed it today? If so did you use a bypass?

No, No. Sorry! I bought the truck use about 6 months ago. Dealer showed me the remote start and it worked fine. Now that it is cold, I would like to start from the house and have it warm when I get in but it starts then dies

Hmm sounds like the bypass stopped working or the brain died. What brand is it?

I had an issue with my wife's remote start. A used car we bought without the remote. I bought a new remote and programmed. It worked for the first day then the car would either start and stop right away or the starter would stay engaged. I found the problem and it was the wire that picked up the tach signal.
