There are some fellas out there that offer full color matched kits to cover the chrome. Looks like a fair project but anyone can do it with a little patience and a case of beer. I'll see if I can find the outfit's name and add for you.

To the OP, I get it. I really wanted the black package on my new truck, but some options were only available with the plus package that forces acres of chrome on you...
On the other hand, it's better than one of the explorer packages on you that forces a glass roof if you want some options...
I have a MHP grill that is over 5 years old and it still looks and cooks like new! It is cast aluminum and 302 stainless steel, it is made here in the US. It is not cheap but it is the best quality grill that I have ever had and I have replaced multiple charbroil, weber etc. over the years and none of them looked very good after 3-4 years even when covered.
We have a Weber grill that we bought in 1999 and still works grate. About 10 years in the "flavorizer" bars were getting toasted, so I ordered new ones, replaced the enameled grates with stainless and ordered new burners, being unsure how much longer they'd be available. Still have the new burners... Doesn't look so new anymore - the cast aluminum tub is chalky and there's a bit of rust on some of the steel framework. Also, the igniters only last a year or two so I just don't bother replacing them and use a butane lighter.
