I`m removing a SROD trans from a 81 F-100 Custom and for the life of me can`t get the shifter removed...Is there a trick I don`t know? Thanks in advance for any help. This embarrasing, I`m usually pretty good at this stuff!

It has been a lot of years since I have removed one and cant remember ATM but I am sure it has come up before.
Do a search with in this area for something like "SROD SHIFTER" and see what comes up.
Maybe someone will come by that knows.

Thing is you cant get to the 3 bolts with the floor / transmission pan in place.
I just cant remember how it comes apart and I cant got to my SROD trans as it is under a lot of stuff to look at it.
