ABS Kicking On
Hey all, having an odd problem with my truck. 2005 F250 CCSB 4x4 V10. I had an abs light on for a while and recently while hitting the brakes, it would sometimes engage the abs for no reason. Scanned it and found that the front left ABS wheel speed sensor was the culprit and replaced it, and somehow that made it worse. Anytime I go over 10mph, the ABS automatically kicks on regardless of whether or not I touch the brakes. It also kicks on whenever I am on the brakes. I’ve taken the sensor back out and made sure the sensor is clean and no shaving on it making it act up but no luck. Any ideas? TIA

You're caught in the code/sensor trap. From the comfort of my chair my guess is the hub has enough play to allow the tone ring to move away from the sensor causing the signal to drop out causing the ABS to set a code and engage the ABS.
